Constructed in pitch pine on oak and elm frames, the hulls are carvel built with lead keels.  Most boats have traditional cotton and putty caulking  but some have been epoxied.

The sailing boats have a fractional rig with the option to use different sail plans.  Normal and storm mains, normal and storm jibs as well as genoas and the new addition to the sail inventory, 225sq.ft. symmetrical spinnakers which were introduced to the class in 2023.
